The day began with a focused morning session dedicated to teaching our cadets how to operate effectively as a section in urban environments. Working in teams, they learned the fundamentals of clearing buildings, room entry techniques, movement through confined spaces, and how to communicate silently and efficiently within their teams. The training also covered how to secure a small village by systematically sweeping through streets, checking potential threats, and holding ground once cleared.

This hands-on instruction emphasized teamwork, coordination, and quick decision-making, all essential skills when operating in close-quarters, high-pressure situations.

In the afternoon, it was time to put theory into practice. The cadets were tasked with executing a series of urban operations scenarios designed to simulate realistic threats. As they moved through the buildings and village they had learned to clear earlier in the day, they encountered enemy forces, testing their ability to adapt, stay calm under pressure, and work as a cohesive unit.

Each section faced different challenges, from surprise engagements in confined rooms to coordinated attacks from multiple angles. Despite the intensity, cadets rose to the occasion, demonstrating courage, tactical awareness, and an impressive level of maturity for their age and experience.

The exercise was a powerful learning experience and a key part of their progression in fieldcraft and leadership training. All cadets walked away with a deeper appreciation for the complexity of urban operations and the critical importance of working together as a team.
