Rossall Cadets Wrap Up an Action-Packed Final Day at Camp

The final day of camp saw Rossall’s cadets split into two teams as they took on a series of six exciting and challenging activities—each designed to test their teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills under pressure.

Communication Challenge

Cadets used PRRs (Personal Role Radios) to transmit Morse code messages across a distance. Precision, clarity, and focus were key as they practiced military-style communication in real time.

Obstacle Course – With a Twist

Teamwork took centre stage as cadets navigated a challenging obstacle course—while safely transporting a fragile piece of dried spaghetti and a raw egg! Impressively, Rossall was one of the few teams all week to complete the course without a single crack or break. A true testament to careful coordination and group strategy!

First Aid Simulation

Cadets were faced with a realistic emergency scenario involving three casualties. Under the direction of their section commander, they assessed the situation, prioritised injuries, and administered essential first aid—a fantastic display of leadership and calm under pressure.

Observation Stand

Using Observation Posts (OPs) and PRRs, one group described what they could see in the distance while their teammates worked to identify a range of military vehicles based on those descriptions. This challenge really sharpened their observation and communication skills.

Vehicle Check Point (VCP)

This high-stakes task required cadets to halt a suspicious vehicle, search it thoroughly, and question the occupants—all while remaining alert for enemy contact. Rossall’s cadets excelled, uncovering 16 out of a possible 22 hidden items, the highest score of the week! A truly eagle-eyed effort from the whole team.

Paintball & Codebreaking

In their final task, cadets entered a paintball lane and completed a codebreaking mission to identify the location of a missing person. This dynamic challenge brought together strategy, teamwork, and quick thinking under fire—ending the day on an exciting high.

Well done to all Rossall cadets for their grit, determination, and teamwork. You represented the school with pride and performed exceptionally across every challenge!
