Rossall Pupils Shine in a Spectacular Evening at Rossall’s Got Talent

Rossall School buzzed with excitement on Saturday as pupils from all years took part in Rossall’s Got Talent. The event showcased a wide range of performances, from classical singing to dance routines and drum solos. A standout moment came from the candlelit Sixth Form Choir.

Jayden F won this year’s competition with an emotional performance of Waving Through the Window, earning high praise from the judges.

Congratulations to all performers for their talent and enthusiasm, and thank you to the staff and students who supported the event behind the scenes. Special recognition goes to Blossom M and Sophie T, whose outstanding organisation and dedication helped make the evening such a success. The warm and energetic audience made the night truly memorable, reflecting the strong community spirit at Rossall.

“In all honesty, for me it was about having a great day with friends, showing off some of the work I’ve done with my vocal coach, and raising the money that we did for charity. I said to multiple people throughout the day that, even though it’s nice to win, it isn’t about that.

The day started around midday when we all had the chance to go through our pieces on stage before the event that night. It was amazing to watch my friends perform, as backstage on the night we obviously couldn’t see them performing. My favourite was Mr. Crombie and Mr. Turner’s performance of American Pie at the end. Both of them genuinely need to consider singing more; even though it was meant to be a laugh, they were both pretty good!

A special thanks goes to my vocal coach, Ian Meeson at Blackpool Theatre Collective, and Anthony Roberts at AVR for helping me with the song.”

“On Saturday, Rossall truly outdid itself with one of the most spectacular talent shows we’ve ever seen. Rossall’s Got Talent lit up the stage with an incredible range of performances, unforgettable moments, and an audience cheering every step of the way.

One of my personal highlights of the evening was getting the chance to perform alongside my best friend Emily. Together, we brought our Chicago mash-up to life with a dynamic song-and-dance routine bursting with energy and passion. Sharing the stage with my best friend made the performance even more special—every kick, turn, and harmony felt electric under the lights.

Another standout moment of the night was the winning performance from Jayden, who delivered a stunning rendition of “Waving Through a Window” from Dear Evan Hansen. His vocals were incredibly strong, and his emotional connection to the song made it a truly moving performance.

Overall, it was an amazing night filled with talent, joy, and community spirit. A huge round of applause goes to Sophie and Blossom, whose hard work and organisation made the entire event a brilliant success.”
