From Rossall to the Big Screen: Tayla-Daisy Hoyle’s Cinematic Success

We are proud to celebrate the success of former Rossall student Tayla-Daisy Hoyle, whose creative journey continues to go from strength to strength.

During her time at Rossall, Tayla-Daisy was a Deputy School Captain, demonstrating leadership, commitment and ambition that have continued to define her path. She is now in her final year at the University of York, where she is currently in pre-production for her third-year film, Murder in C Minor.

Murder in C Minor is an ambitious hitman musical film, and Tayla-Daisy is serving as the film’s cinematographer. This is a role she successfully interviewed for and secured, reflecting both her technical skill and clear creative vision. Cinematography is where her true passion lies, and this project marks an exciting milestone in her professional development.

Set on the opening night of a grand London opera, the film follows a mysterious hitman hired to eliminate a framed prima donna as part of a corrupt director’s scheme. What begins as a carefully planned crime quickly escalates into a dramatic story of deceit, desire and betrayal, culminating in a tense and unforgettable finale.

Filming is scheduled to take place in March, with a cinema premiere in York planned for June or July, an impressive achievement for a student-led production and a testament to the talent and dedication of the team involved.

We are delighted to see Tayla-Daisy thriving in the creative industries and representing Rossall beyond the school gates. Those who would like to follow the making of the film and its journey to the big screen can do so on Instagram at @murder.in.c.minor_film.

A small fundraising campaign is also supporting the production. Anyone who wishes to contribute can find further details here:

We look forward to seeing Tayla-Daisy’s continued success and wish her and the team every success with Murder in C Minor.
