Students Shine Across Sport and the Arts

At Rossall School, we take immense pride in celebrating the achievements of our students, whose talent, dedication, and determination continue to inspire both peers and staff alike. This term, several Rossallians have made outstanding strides in sport and the arts, demonstrating excellence across a range of disciplines.

Making Waves: Dexter’s Swimming Success

Dexter’s hard work and commitment in the pool have once again delivered remarkable results. Competing in the 16 and over category at the North West Championships in Blackpool, he achieved an outstanding medal haul: Gold in the 50m Freestyle (23.70), Silver in the 100m Freestyle (54.61), and Bronze in the 50m Backstroke (28.40).

These performances have qualified Dexter to compete regionally in the open category, with the potential to progress to national level in the near future. He is now ranked 7th in the UK and 6th in England for his age group, an incredible achievement that reflects his dedication and work ethic.

Balancing intense training sessions with his academic studies, Dexter continues to set a superb example of perseverance and discipline. His achievements underline the growing strength of swimming at Rossall, and his ambition to reach the top three nationally within the next year is a testament to his focus and determination.

Jess Excels on the Netball Court

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding success of Jess, whose passion and talent for netball have earned her a place in both the Cheshire County U13 Squad and the Manchester Thunder Pathway U13 Black Performance Squad.

Her selection follows a series of competitive trials and highlights her commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork. Alongside her representative honours, Jess remains a dedicated member of Kingsway Power Netball Club in Cheadle, where she continues to develop her skills and contribute to her team’s success.

Everyone at Rossall is incredibly proud of Jess and all she has achieved so far. Her enthusiasm and determination make her a role model for aspiring athletes across the school.

Layla’s Creative Journey in Graphics

Year 13 student Layla has shown exceptional dedication and creativity in her Graphics studies this year. Her current project, The Rural Root, is a stylish farmers market magazine featuring original artwork and photography. The publication reflects her initiative and artistic flair, as well as her growing confidence in the subject.

Having once been uncertain about pursuing Graphics, Layla has since discovered a true passion for the discipline and plans to continue her studies at university. Her teachers have praised both her progress and the exceptional quality of her work. Layla’s creativity, commitment, and perseverance stand as a shining example of success in the Arts at Rossall.

Golfing Glory at the SSGT Strokeplay Championship

Rossall golfers once again demonstrated their skill and composure at the SSGT Strokeplay Championship at Hollinwell. Year 12 student Molly secured her third consecutive Girls SSGT Strokeplay title, an incredible achievement that speaks to her consistency and talent.

Ana, also in Year 12, earned an impressive third place in the girls’ competition, while the Boys team finished runners-up overall. Tom placed fifth after an exceptional second-day score of four under par, with Josh seventh and Oscar tenth, rounding off a superb set of performances.

The tournament was a true reflection of Rossall’s sporting spirit, showcasing teamwork, discipline, and a commitment to excellence across the board.

From the swimming pool to the art studio and the golf course to the netball court, our students continue to demonstrate what it means to be a Rossallian, dedicated, driven, and ready to excel.
