A Night of Tradition and Camaraderie: Rossall CCF Celebrates Regimental Dinner

On Friday 7 th November, 42 members of Rossall School’s Combined Cadet Force gathered to celebrate the Contingent, and proudly restart the Annual Regimental Dinner tradition. Sixth Form cadets, CFAVs and serving personnel came together over a delicious meal to mark a night of camaraderie, pride and reflection.

The evening began with a warm reception, the CCF Band played and the no-seco flowed. As the guests took their seats, the dining room filled with a sense of occasion; from the polished silver and regimental colours to the lively conversations shared between cadets, volunteers, and service members. Major Pilkington described the event as “a thoroughly memorable evening, especially as cadets had the opportunity to interact with adults in an informal capacity”.

Over the course of the evening, guests enjoyed excellent food, engaging company, and the chance to celebrate both the achievements of the Contingent and the values that define Rossall’s CCF. Speeches from The Cadet RSM, Adeite and the Guest of Honour, Cdr Haines highlighted the benefit of CCF for the personal development amongst cadets, and of the importance in maintaining a connection between past and present members, whilst honouring those who serve, and inspiring the next generation of cadet leaders!

Captain Gartside said “I was proud to hear Adeite, the cadet RSM, give engaging and meaningful speeches, along with seeing him and his peers engage in a wonderful dining experience and learn the regiment dining etiquette. As a CFAV, it was fantastic to be able to network with some significant dignitaries and have the opportunity to discuss potential future opportunities for our cadet force.”

The event not only showcased the professionalism and spirit of our Sixth Formers but also reinforced the strength of community within the CCF. The evening concluded with plenty of laughter, a few stories shared across generations, and a

renewed commitment to the high standards and proud traditions of Rossall School. The Cadet RSM, Adeite, reflects on the evening saying “the Regimental Dinner was an incredible night. The opportunity to interact with all our guests and volunteers on such a special setting was brilliant.”

Lt Heath wishes to thank everyone who helped make the evening come to life, particularly the Catering and Housekeeping teams at Rossall School. She said “it was an absolute honour to enable an evening like this come to life, one that not only celebrated success, but also gave our cadets the chance to experience a dinner, teaching etiquette and instilling confidence all whilst growing a network for the growing Rossall CCF, now and for years to come!”
