ROSSALL’S IB DIPLOMA STUDENTS CELEBRATE FANTASTIC RESULTS
IB students at Rossall School are celebrating today following the publication of the school’s results.
With an average well above the global and UK average, IB Rossallians are now on their way to pursuing a wide variety of inspiring pathways at some of the most competitive courses in the UK and overseas. Over the last three years, we are proud to have sustained an excellent 35-point average. The average score globally is 30 points out of a possible 45.
An outstanding 80% of the cohort are the proud recipients of the coveted bilingual diploma, recognised by universities as evidence of advanced academic proficiency in two languages. These results reflect both the international nature of the Rossall community and the exceptional commitment shown by students studying in their second - and often third - language.
A quarter of Rossall students achieved 40 points or above, internationally reserved for the top 10% of performers globally, with 58% of grades a 6 or 7 at Higher Level (the equivalent of A* or A at A Level). Amazingly, they have done this alongside studying for three further SL subjects, researching and submitting an Extended Essay and completing the intellectually rigorous Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course.
We are incredibly proud of all of our IB students and would like to congratulate them on their impressive achievements. They have been fantastic role models, and, whether through sport, drama, music, as senior monitors or house monitors, have made a contribution that has positively impacted all at Rossall. We cannot wait to see the people they will become and the things they will achieve in the years to come.
