Rossall School are proud to announce an exclusive golf partnership with Tommy Fleetwood Academy (TFA) from September 2026
Rossall School has partnered with global golfing icon Tommy Fleetwood to provide pupils with an unparalleled golfing education and development pathway.
The partnership will see Rossall’s Golf Academy – already recognised as one of the finest school golf programmes in the country by the Independent Schools Golf Association – become the exclusive Tommy Fleetwood Academy (TFA) partner within the UK independent school sector from September 2026.
Andrew McBride Headmaster of Rossall School, said: “This is a landmark moment for Rossall School and one that fills us with enormous pride and excitement.
“Our Golf Academy has already established itself as one of the leading school golf programmes in the country, with national success and an outstanding reputation for developing talented young players.
“To become the exclusive home of the Tommy Fleetwood Academy within the UK independent school sector is truly groundbreaking. This partnership reflects our ambition to provide exceptional opportunities for young people and to continue pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in education and sport.”

Outstanding results in art
We are delighted with the exceptional results the GCSE and A level, Art students have achieved again this year. The A level Art and Design class went from strength to strength, going on to achieve 100% A*.
Their exhibitions were varied and personal to each of the students in the class. I was absolutely thrilled to hear of the GCSE successes, following on from the fantastic A level results, where the exam board wrote to the school to congratulate us on four students achieving 100%, being amongst the very best in the country.
This was wonderful news to top off an exceptional year in our Art Department, here at Rossall School.
Olivia’s Fundraising
We couldn’t be prouder of Olivia. Following her 9th birthday, Olivia chose to ask for donations to the Ricky Hatton Foundation instead of presents, raising a huge amount for a cause very close to her heart.
Ricky was a great friend of Olivia’s dad, making this fundraising even more special.
Representing Rossall Prep, Mr Turner was delighted to meet Carol and Ray Hatton, and Lyla Hatton, Ricky’s granddaughter, as we presented Olivia’s fundraising cheque.
The family and foundation are hoping that a bench can be placed in Blackpool later this year where people can reflect and remember Ricky who loved coming to Blackpool; there couldn’t be a more fitting lasting tribute.
What an incredible example of kindness, generosity and community spirit. Well done, Olivia - we are so proud of you.
Music achievements
Jasmine S-E Y13 Rose
Huge congratulations to Jasmine, who spent her summer performing as a trombonist with the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain! On top of her musical achievements, she also volunteered as a pastoral staff member for the National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain as part of her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. What fantastic leadership and dedication from one of our Academic and Music Scholars!
Joshua S-E Y9 MF
This summer, Joshua had the brilliant opportunity to sing in a vocal quartet with the National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain. Showcasing his talent on a national stage is an incredible achievement. What an outstanding example of the musical skill and confidence of a Rossall Music Scholar!
Mr Hindle starts at Rossall Dance Academy
We are incredibly excited and privileged to welcome Mr Hindle to Rossall Dance Academy as our new Ballet Teacher. Mark will be teaching weekly Ballet classes and offering private lessons to our students, providing them with an exceptional opportunity to learn from his wealth of professional experience and expertise.
Our students are incredibly lucky to have access to such a respected and talented teacher and we cannot wait to see them develop, grow and be inspired by Mark’s knowledge and passion for Ballet. We are absolutely thrilled to have him as part of the Rossall Dance Academy team!
Rossall Sport Development Plan: Investing in Our Future
We are delighted to launch the Rossall Sport Development Plan, beginning with the creation of a new all-weather 3G football pitch. This transformational project will enhance year-round training and competition, strengthening opportunity, participation, and performance for current and future Rossallians.
Alongside this, the plan includes further development of golf facilities, cricket provision, esports, a new cardio gym, and a sports café, creating inclusive spaces that support performance, wellbeing, and community.
The wider vision also includes a Garden of Reflection in Hall Gardens, honouring the legacy of the Kindertransport.
With the support of our community and alumni, we aim to build a lasting sporting legacy that reflects Rossall’s values and future ambition.

WAYS TO BE WELL AT ROSSALL
Welcome back! Whether you are new to Rossall or returning to us, and whether you are joining us as a day or boarding student, we hope that the start of the new school year has been a smooth one.
The return to school and routine can bring about lots of changes for students and parents alike. It can be difficult to adjust bedtimes and manage earlier wake-ups, alongside longer days, new routines and lots to remember! During these first few days, it is important to stay organised, but also to take time and be kind to ourselves. At times, we may get lost, forget something or feel a little overwhelmed — and that is okay. As long as we take a moment to reflect, learn from our experiences and try again, we are doing alright!
Make sure you help your children to recognise those little wins each day. These small moments can make a big difference in building confidence and helping children to feel settled. They will look different for every child, but each one deserves to be celebrated nonetheless.
We hope you can take some time over the weekend to recharge, rest and enjoy being together, and that you are feeling as excited about the year ahead as we are. The Parent Guide below provides some practical tips to help with readjusting to the school routine.
Finally, something we regularly share with staff and students here at Rossall are the Happiness Calendars produced by Action for Happiness. The theme for this September is ‘Self-Care September’. What better way to start the school year than with a focus on looking after ourselves? Taking care of our wellbeing helps us to feel more balanced, resilient and ready to be the best version of ourselves that we can be.
This September, let’s make time for the small things that help us feel good — and remember that looking after ourselves is not an extra, but an important part of a happy and successful school year.
