ARMY

The CCF Army Section provides students with structured training and adventurous opportunities designed to challenge, inspire, and build essential life skills. Though rooted in military practices, the emphasis is firmly on personal growth, leadership, and teamwork.

The section is headed by Captain Jacob Gartside, who alongside his role works as a clinical education practitioner.

Cadets in the Army Section engage in a wide range of dynamic and rewarding activities, including:

  • Training & Discipline:

Cadets learn essential military skills such as drill, weapons handling, shooting, and

fieldcraft, alongside practical abilities like first aid and navigation.

  •  Adventurous Training:

Designed to build resilience, courage, and teamwork.

  • Leadership Development:

Cadets take on increasing levels of responsibility, learning how to lead others, solve

problems, and make confident decisions under pressure.

  •  Personal and Social Growth:

Through challenging experiences and structured mentorship, cadets develop

qualities such as self-reliance, perseverance, and a strong sense of responsibility.

  • Teamwork and Service:

Working closely with peers, cadets learn the importance of cooperation, trust, and

service to their community.

One of the most anticipated aspects of CCF life is the opportunity to attend summer camps and field exercises, often run in collaboration with Service Cadet Training Teams. These immersive experiences allow cadets to put their skills into practice in exciting, real-world settings, forging friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

The Army Section of the CCF offers far more than just adventure; it fosters character, nurtures potential, and builds future leaders. For those ready to embrace challenge, responsibility, and teamwork, it is a journey that can shape the course of a lifetime.
