With Love From Chapel - summer Term - Week 5

This weekend is Prize Day!

It is a day full of celebration and recognition of the huge amount of work that students have done over the last year, key stages or even their entire school-career.

It is - for many of our oldest students - the end of an ‘era’ at Rossall School. And it is, invariably, a time for the odd tear between the cheers and hugs and celebrations.

However, it is also a chance to look ahead: a chance to applaud each other, give lots of hugs at the end of the Leavers’ Ball - and then look forward to new adventures.

Every year, our students leave for a whole array of new adventures - some close to home, some really really far away. You just have to look at the Rossall Sixth Form instagram account, where the 6th form team share the stories of so many of our leavers in their future paths and careers. Many of them meet up again after a long time - in a different country, doing different things - but always remembering their time at Rossall together.

After the euphoria of this weekend has died down -  when all exams are done and all revision material has been cleared from the desks - some of those ‘next steps’ might seem somewhat scary or daunting…but:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

This is what Paul writes in his letters to the Philippians.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

This is what is worth remembering for those times when our youngest ORs might doubt themselves and might worry about the next hurdle.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

This is a good reminder to us all in times of worry or stress.

So, the next time we feel overwhelmed, let’s have a cup of tea and remember that we can draw strength from God before we panic. The kettle’s boiling.
