The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain Ready To Shine Workshop Tour
Last week, the NYBBGB team visited St Martin’s in the Fields, London, Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester, and the University of Birmingham for three audition skills workshops, bringing together talented young brass and percussion players for inspiring days of music-making, learning and performance.
Among those attending were three Rossall Prep students, Joel, Henry and Stanley, who joined young musicians from across the country to develop their confidence, audition skills and musicianship in a supportive environment.
Each day concluded with an informal concert for parents and families, giving participants the opportunity to showcase everything they had worked on throughout the workshop.
Across the three venues, the NYBBGB team worked with 66 young musicians, many of whom travelled from far and wide to take part. Feedback from participants and families was overwhelmingly positive, and it was inspiring to see so many young people embracing new musical challenges with enthusiasm and determination.
Every participant, parent, tutor, host venue and supporter helped make this year’s Ready To Shine workshops such a success. As one of the UK’s leading youth music charities, the NYBBGB remains committed to inspiring the next generation of brass and percussion musicians, and after this week, the future looks incredibly bright.
