Rossall School named among the Top 25 schools in the UK for the International Baccalaureate
The Sunday Times’ Parent Power Guide 2026 has revealed the UK’s highest-achieving primary and secondary schools.
Rossall School has been named among the Top 25 schools in the country for the International Baccalaureate qualification, a notable national achievement that reflects exceptional academic performance and breadth of learning.
Now in its 33rd edition, the Parent Power Guide is widely regarded as the most authoritative ranking of primary and secondary schools across the UK.
Helen Davies, editor of The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide, said: "The educational landscape is testing, budget challenges, rising student mental health issues, special educational needs and an increasingly uncertain future. But there is also so much to celebrate from the dedication of teachers who are finding ever more innovative and impactful ways to enrich their students and give them the very best start in life.
As well as celebrating the academic excellence of the top schools it is uplifting to see how they are shaping their students to be ready for the 21st century, and instilling a lifelong love of learning."
Rossall School, located on its historic coastal campus in Fleetwood, Lancashire, has been recognised for both its strong academic outcomes and its supportive, enriching educational environment. Rossall offers a broad curriculum that includes the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, A Levels, and BTECs, combining intellectual challenge with opportunities for personal growth across a wide range of subjects.
Headmaster Mr Andrew McBride said: "I am delighted that Rossall School has been named among the top twenty-five schools in the UK for the International Baccalaureate qualification, one of the most demanding qualifications that a student can undertake. This achievement reflects the expertise and dedication of our teaching staff and the brilliance, determination, and character of our students. It is a testament to the strength of a community defined by connection, encouragement, and a deep sense of belonging.
Rossall is a place where young people are known, supported, and inspired to believe in their own potential. To achieve a high average point score in the IB as a non-academically selective school is truly special and affirms our belief that Rossall students can accomplish anything they set their minds to."
