Wellbeing Wednesday Carousel: A Celebration of Mindfulness and Joy at Rossall

At Rossall, we believe that wellbeing sits at the heart of a truly exceptional education. This week, our Pre Prep and Prep pupils embraced that philosophy during a joyful and meaningful Wellbeing Wednesday Carousel.

Throughout the afternoon, pupils moved between a variety of carefully designed spaces, each one dedicated to promoting positivity, mindfulness and emotional awareness. The atmosphere was calm, reflective and filled with quiet excitement as children explored different ways to care for their minds and celebrate their individuality.

There were opportunities for show and tell, where pupils proudly shared a favourite item and the special memories connected to it. In another room, soft meditation music accompanied quiet colouring, encouraging stillness and focus. Pupils also enjoyed yoga sessions, learning gentle stretches and breathing techniques to relax both body and mind. Wellbeing quizzes helped them discover practical strategies for staying mindful and managing their emotions. Creative sessions allowed them to design their own mindful jars, filling them with drawings of treasured memories, hopes and dreams for the future.

The afternoon offered more than relaxation. It provided space to pause, breathe and reflect. As we approach the half term break, moments like these are especially powerful. They allow our pupils to look back on the hard work and fantastic achievements of the Lent term so far, while also learning the importance of balance and self care.

At Rossall, nurturing wellbeing is not an occasional event. It is woven into the fabric of school life. By creating opportunities for reflection, creativity and connection, we help our pupils grow not only academically, but emotionally and socially. Wellbeing Wednesday Carousel was a wonderful reminder that when children feel supported, calm and confident, they truly flourish.
