Summer Week 9 – Message from the Junior Headmaster

Dear Parents,

Today promised thunderstorms but we waved goodbye to the last of the pupils this afternoon, with glorious sunshine on our backs. Exhausted yet happy children from all year groups have gone home each evening, bursting with stories of talking with friends, completing interesting new learning tasks, and playing on the beach. The return to School for so many children could not have been more welcomed; they truly needed to return and have done so with great maturity and understanding of the measures we have put in place to support and protect each other. Our virtual pupils who have been unable to be here in person, have continued to Zoom into classrooms and complete their work online, in a truly hybrid approach to our educational offering.

The final week of the academic year beckons. The Year 6s will have their prize giving event and we have plenty of activities planned for all the pupils to allow them to finish this year on a high. On Monday I will write to all parents with details of our virtual transition event next week and reports will be issued to all year groups later in the week. Despite all of the challenges presented, we continue to offer every element of School life that is feasible.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Mr Turner
Headmaster of Rossall Junior School
