Rossall Pentathlon Academy Strike Gold at the Nationals

On Saturday, the Rossall Pentathlon Team travelled to Birmingham to compete in the National Triathlon Championships 2017.

In the U15 boys, Tim Woodman competed well in both the swim and laser run event finishing in a respectable 15th place.

In the U17 girls’ competition, Rossall newcomer Kamie Lowe battled through illness to finish 12th, and last year’s U15 Champion, Isabelle Woodman, produced a fine laser run to move from 26th to finish 15th. Along with another Pentathlon Academy member, the girls managed to win the team event to produce Rossall Pentathlon Academy’s first ever team gold medal!

The standout performance came from Year 9 student, Sophia Singleton, who was competing in the Under 15 category. Sophia got off to a fine start, producing a personal best time of 1:06 in the 100m swim, putting her in 6th place before the laser run. After another fine performance in the laser run, Sophia eased through the field to cross the line with a comprehensive victory and she was crowned National Champion.

A great weekend with even better results – well done!
