Rossall crowned National Champions!

Rossall School has been crowned National Golf Champions at the Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) Championship.

112 Schools entered the championship and 130 teams were drawn into 19 areas based on location, with the winners of each area progressing to the National Final alongside last year’s winners and runners-up.

Rossall was drawn in Area  P alongside Birkenhead, King’s Macclesfield, Merchant Taylor’s and Sedbergh. After winning their area, Rossall advanced to the National Finals, along with 20 other teams from all over Great Britain.

The finals were held over a 2-day tournament at St Mellion International Resort and Rossall was represented by Year 12 students, Greg Holmes, John Wilding and Louis Talarczyk.

On the first day of the tournament, all competitors played 18 holes on the Kernow Course. At the end of the day, last year’s winners Whitgift were leading with a score of 137. In second place stood Wellington College, with a score of a 138 followed by Rossall School and Loretto on a joint score of 140.

On the second and final day of the tournament, all competitors played 18 holes on the Nicklaus course.

After a fantastic performance, Rossall School won the tournament and were crowned ISGA National Champions. Millfield was awarded second place and Birkdale came third.
