JACK SENIOR BECOMES GOLF ACADEMY AMBASSADOR

Jack Senior Rossall Golf Academy Ambassador

We are thrilled to announce that DP World Tour (European Tour) player Jack Senior has agreed to become an ambassador of the school’s golf academy.

Jack is married to our Academy Assistant Beth and over the past few years he has taken the time to play golf with the Rossall students when back at home in-between tournaments. Jack has been impressed by the standard of golf being played by Rossall Golf Academy members and the training programmes put in place for them to follow.

I’ve been following the progress of the Rossall Golf Academy and it’s players for a few years now and I have been impressed with the strength in depth of the whole team. It’s been great to see them have some fantastic results over the years. The way the Golf Academy is developing and trending I can only see more success in the future. I only wish that I had somewhere like this to combine my studies and golf when I was growing up!

Jack Senior

What Jack will bring to the table is invaluable to all our students, especially those who are considering playing at the highest level. Jack has experienced every level of golf and can pass on his wealth of knowledge to those who are at different stages of the game themselves.

From the age of 15 Jack was part of the England Boy’s team and continued to progress to the full international men’s team from the age of 18, until he turned professional. As an amateur golfer Jack reached number 9 in the official amateur golf rankings, won prestigious amateur titles including The Lytham Trophy (2011), The New South Wales Amateur (2011) and got selected for the Walker Cup team in 2011, who beat a star studded USA team at Royal Aberdeen against the likes of Jordan Speith, Patrick Cantlay, Peter Uhlein and Russel Henley. Jack also reached the 2011 Semi final of the US Amateur Championship beating Jordan Speith and Justin Thomas along the way.

In September 2011 Jack turned professional and his first taste of professional golf was on the Alps Tour, a satellite tour centred around Europe. With two wins in the first season Jack was promoted on to the Challenge Tour and would stay competing there for the next 8 years. In these 8 years Jack played full seasons on the Challenge tour racking up 2 wins, The Scottish Hydro Challenge at Spey Valley and the ISPS World Invitational at Galgorm Castle. Opportunities were also taken to play on the European Tour as they arose. In 2019 Jack finished 6th in the final Challenge Tour rankings earning promotion to Europe’s top tour, The European Tour (now known as the DP World Tour). Jack has played in four Open Championships to date and has competed against the very best in the game. A highlight being the 2021 Scottish Open where Jack was leading after 36 holes and played with John Rahm- the current world number 1.

I’m looking forward to being able to use my knowledge and experiences in helping the students of the academy. Whether that be helping with their pre shot routines or choosing certain shots and the right time to play them or the mental side of the game in dealing with pressure and expectation.

Jack Senior

We are honoured to have Jack on board here at Rossall and are looking forward to him helping and passing on his knowledge to our Rossall Golf Academy Members.

I am absolutely delighted that Jack has agreed to become an ambassador of our golf academy. Having grown up playing with Jack’s older brother, it has been an insightful journey throughout the years watching Jack progress through the amateur and professional ranks. Jack has always found time to play with our students and continually stressed to me that if he can help in any way I was to just ask. For our students to be able to see the standards required to make it as a playing professional is a truly unique opportunity that so many juniors only get to dream about, with Jack now on board our golf academy has taken another huge step forwards.
