Rossall School Nursery and Pre-School is a very happy and productive place to be!

Children from 2-4 are nurtured in a safe and secure environment within Rossall School’s 160-acre campus. Children benefit from Rossall’s amenities including lunch in the Harry Potter-esque Dining Hall and attending seasonal services in the Chapel of St John The Baptiste.

Children at Rossall Nursery and Pre-School are also guaranteed a place in Rossall School’s Reception Class. Most of our nursery children choose to continue their education at Rossall, providing a smooth transition from Nursery to Reception.

The curriculum is designed to provide children with the support needed to extend their knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence. We seek to provide children with a rich and stimulating environment where they feel included, secure and valued. Curiosity and creativity are encouraged on a daily basis. Developing fine motor skills, time outdoors and healthy activity are all an important part of the Early Years’ Foundation at Rossall, to give them the best possible start in life. But above all, learning is fun and the joy of learning is infused into everything we do.

In addition, the Early Years Foundation Curriculum is planned in conjunction with the Primary Years Programme for the three and four-year-olds. It focuses on the total growth of the developing child, encompassing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs in addition to academic development. This is taught through six transdisciplinary themes which provide a relevant, engaging, challenging and significant educational framework for all children.
