Governors
The School’s governing body was incorporated under the Royal Charter in 1890 and is made up of up to 24 people at any one time. Rossall’s governing Council exists to govern the School in all matters to ensure Rossall School is able to provide a general education of the highest class and to do all things necessary, incidental or conducive to the attainment of this. The implementation and effectiveness of decisions are monitored either directly by Council or indirectly through sub-committees, including the Finance and General Purposes Committee, the Education Committee, the Compliance and Safeguarding Committee, the Senior Remuneration Committee, the Health and Safety Committee and the Nominations Committee. Council and its sub-committees meet once per term. The Chairman of Governors can be contacted through correspondence using the school address or through [email protected]. History of Rossall School
Rossall School was founded in 1844 by Rev. St Vincent Beechey as a sister school to Marlborough College which had been founded the previous year.

Rossall Foundation
The Rossall Foundation was set up by former Chair of Council, Hazel Trapnell, in 2005 to support the School's aims and to help it to flourish.
