On entering the School, every pupil is allocated a tutor or, in the case of the juniors, a class teacher. The tutor or class teacher plays a vital role in overseeing and promoting the positive progress of the pupils in their care, and is usually the first point of contact for parents if they have a query or concern that they would like to raise.
From Year 7 upwards, dedicated Tutor Time allows tutors to discuss progress with their tutees, talk about the balance between academic commitments and other commitments and plan ahead with important decisions and milestones, such as GCSE option choices and application to university. The Tutor is the first point of contact for both academic and pastoral issues, and is on hand in person, by phone or email to be contacted.
Our teaching staff are our most precious resource; they are key to the school's delivery of engaging, well-paced and inspirational lessons.
A school’s curriculum goes to the very heart of education.
The House System sits at the heart of our tutorial structure at Rossall and becomes a very important element of school life in terms of community, identity, pastoral and academic support.
