NURSERY

Children are the centre of everything that we do and we place great importance upon following their interests in such a way that it supports their social interactions and helps them to develop an understanding of themselves.

We are family-centered and our Nursery is a place where both parents and children feel at home. Every morning, our children cannot wait to see their friends, resume their play activities from the day before, and tell us all that they have been doing at home with brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents.

We understand how important it is for you to feel secure in terms of entrusting us with the most precious thing in the world; your child. This is the reason why we work so closely with you in order to keep you informed every step of the way. This ongoing conversation between home and Nursery is an integral aspect of your child’s continuous development.

We would love to welcome you to visit us and experience for yourself the incredible setting we have created. Please do contact us to arrange an appointment. I look forward to meeting you soon.

The Sanderlings Baby Room

The Sanderlings Baby Room is serene, cosy and comfortable. This modern space is flooded with natural light and allows exclusive access to a soft floored, secure garden space. Created with attention to detail, this home-from-home environment will help your baby to feel relaxed and content, ensuring the transition from home to nursery is very natural.

All children are inquisitive learners and Sanderlings inspiring surroundings stimulate the process of discovery. The playful setting and excellent resources allow your baby to learn through their senses and, of course, through play.

The Sandpiper Room and Nursery Hall

The interior of the Sandpiper Room and Nursery Hall is similar to that of Sanderlings Baby Room but they are on a larger scale. There is plenty of space to play and exciting activities and toys to explore and direct access to the outdoor learning and garden area.

We love to venture outdoors to explore the natural world – Insects resting in the grass, the sound of the cockerel in the hall garden and the pygmy goats bouncing around on the mound next to the nursery are all commonplace occurrences.

When your child moves up to Sandpipers, they will be introduced to a more structured daily routine of learning. Play activities are designed to encourage children to become fully engaged so that they develop their ability to concentrate.

In Nursery Hall, there is a strong focus on helping children to become ready for reception class. Whilst the emphasis is still on having fun and delighting in the joys of explorative learning, sessions are organised in a way that complements and foreshadows the themes and topics seen and embraced in the Pre-Prep School.

Government Funding - How It Works

15 HOURS FUNDING

All 3 to 4-year-olds in England can get 570 government-funded hours per year.

This equates to 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year (many Nurseries only offer term-time provision).

The 15 Hours Funding can be accommodated on half-day sessions (Morning: 8.00am to 1.00pm and Afternoon: 1.00pm to 6.00pm) and full-day sessions.

Please visit the government website for details.

At Rossall, we offer a 50 week per year provision. Therefore, the funded hours are spread over 50 weeks; this equates to 11.4 hours funding per week over 50 weeks of the year. Thus avoiding you having to pay for the provision in the holidays at the full rate.

30 HOURS FUNDING

Some families are eligible for 1,140 hours of funding, equating to 30 hours per week over 38 weeks (many Nurseries only offer term time provision).

At Rossall, we offer a 50 week per year provision. Therefore, the funded hours are spread over 50 weeks; this equates to 22.8 hours funding per week over 50 weeks of the year.

Due to demand and staff ratios, we are only able to offer the 30 Hours Funding on full-day sessions.
