Central to a Rossall education is the relationship that is built between the pupils and the teaching staff; at the very heart of this sits the key relationship with the class teacher or tutor.
In the nursery, Infants and Junior School, the class teacher gets to know each individual pupil extremely well – they monitor their progress, celebrate success, guide and encourage. The class teacher is the main point of contact for parents and can be reached at any time by phone, email or in person.
In the Senior School, the tutors play a similar role. Tutors meet with their tutees twice a day and time is set aside to discuss progress, topical issues and forward-planning. The tutor plays a key pastoral role and the small size of tutor groups ensure that each pupil is individually well known and understood by their tutor.
Looking after the well-being of the pupils in our care is of the highest importance - we want our pupils to be healthy and balanced individuals physically spiritually and emotionally.
The House System sits at the heart of our tutorial structure at Rossall and becomes a very important element of school life in terms of community, identity, pastoral and academic support.
Our teaching staff are our most precious resource; they are key to the school's delivery of engaging, well-paced and inspirational lessons.
